Looking after your
loved one’s ashes or hair
We know it can feel difficult to send your loved one’s ashes away, even when it’s to create something you’ll treasure. You may want to know who will look after them, how they’ll be identified and whether any remaining ashes will come back to you.
These are questions we’re always happy to answer. We hope knowing more about what happens here will help you feel comfortable with your decision.
An experienced team
you can trust
Your jewellery is made by our experienced jewellers in a dedicated workshop, with audited processes and a photographic record at every stage.
EverWith is trusted by thousands of funeral homes and stockists across the UK. We understand the responsibility that comes with that trust, both from the funeral professionals who recommend us and the families who choose us.
When you send your loved one’s ashes or hair to EverWith, you’re placing them in the care of a professional team who understand just how precious they are.
Sending a small amount to us
Your collection pack includes a sealable bag, instructions and a prepaid return envelope. We only need a small amount of ashes or hair to make your jewellery, so please follow the instructions in your pack and keep the rest safely with you.
There’s no need to rush. If you find this part difficult, you might prefer to ask someone close to you to help. Our team is also here to talk you through the instructions if anything is unclear.
Letting you know they’ve arrived
We’ll email you to let you know when your loved one’s ashes or hair have safely arrived with us. We understand you’ll be waiting for that reassurance.
This is also where the photographic record of your order begins, capturing your parcel’s contents, including your order confirmation form and the ashes or hair you’ve sent.
Keeping your loved one’s ashes identified
Your loved one’s ashes remain in their sealed, labelled bag together with your completed paperwork until it’s time to use them in your jewellery.
Alongside this identification, we photograph your order throughout the process, from its arrival with us to the completed jewellery and accompanying paperwork.
If you’d like to understand more about how we identify and handle your order, please ask. We’re happy to explain the process before you decide to send anything to us.
A photographic record at every step
All of our processes are audited, and we take photographs at every step of your order.
This starts when we receive your parcel, including your order confirmation form and your loved one’s ashes or hair. We continue taking photographs as your jewellery is made, through to the finished pieces and the paperwork that accompanies them.
Together, these photographs provide a record of your order throughout its time with us. Any personal information captured in these photographs is handled in accordance with our privacy policy and UK data protection law.
We know how much trust you’re placing in our team, and looking after your loved one’s ashes or hair is a responsibility we take to heart.
One order at a time
Only one jewellery order is made at a time by our jewellers in the workshop.
Your order receives individual care and attention as we create your chosen pieces. We follow a full procedure for cleaning and sterilising workbenches between orders.
Whether you’ve chosen a single keepsake or several pieces for your family, we understand how much each one will mean to the person wearing it.
Creating your memorial jewellery
For our resin memorial jewellery, we carefully incorporate a small amount of your loved one’s ashes, hair or fur into the resin within your chosen design.
If you ever need any changes to your finished jewellery, please contact our specialist team. They can talk you through the options and advise on what may be possible.
Returning the ashes we haven’t used
Any unused ashes are returned to you in their sealed bag alongside your finished jewellery.
We know how much they mean to you, and that you’ll want them safely home too.
The finished jewellery and accompanying paperwork are also photographed as part of the record of your order.
Keeping in touch
We’ll email you when your ashes or hair arrive and let you know when your jewellery has passed our quality checks and is ready to be sent home.
We use DPD’s next working day service, or two working days for Northern Ireland and Scotland. You’ll receive tracking details and a notification with your one-hour delivery window.
If you’re waiting for an update or have a question along the way, please get in touch with your order number. We’ll be happy to help.
Including more than one loved one
You may wish to bring together memories of more than one loved one in your jewellery.
Please tell us whose ashes you would like included. If your design has separate settings, let us know where you would like each loved one’s ashes placed and which resin colour you would like for each. You can write this on your order confirmation form or email our team.
If you’re unsure how to prepare or label separate sets of ashes, please speak to us before sending them. We can help you make your wishes clear.

More than one item of jewellery
If you choose more than one piece of jewellery, each will be individually hand-wrapped and placed in its own gift bag, with a tag identifying the piece inside.
This makes it easy to tell each piece apart. If one is a gift, you can keep it beautifully wrapped and ready to give, knowing exactly what’s inside.
Talk to us whenever you need to
Choosing memorial jewellery is personal, and it’s understandable to have questions. Whether you’re ready to order or just thinking things through, we’re here to listen and help.
